Weaving the rooftop
The project explores a suspended garden on a historical building rooftop featuring edible plants and combining Japanese and Mediterranean sensibilities. Crossing French know-how of chestnut weaving, and, Japanese traditional weaving resources, 2 concepts are proposed.
The first is Gardening Cultural Gateway which focus on the use of plants common to both cultures like Biwa|Medlar or Wisteria|Fuji. It emphasizes the link between Japan and the Med. The second is The gastronomic ritual based on growing synchronously as an ecosystem plants to provide ingredients for recurring events of traditional cooking celebrating the Place, the seasonality and the act of sharing a meal.
